Sports Investing - Fighting the Urge

By: NFL Choice

The most crucial aspect of managing a consistent bankroll when investing on any sport is fighting the urge to with-drawl from your account.  Whether your dealing with a bookie, playing at a casino, or at an online sportsbook, keeping your funds locked up in your investment is critical so your bankroll is ever increasing.

This article will assess the aspects of maintaining your bankroll while investing in sports.  Since we invest in Basketball and Football, there are 2 different times per year you should withdrawl from your account, if ANY at all.

The Predicament - There is nothing more tempting than withdrawing some of your bankroll from your funds at your sportsbook, from your bankroll that you made off your bookie, or money that you won every week at your casino sports book.  Let's say at the beginning of football season you start with a bankroll of $2,000.  You have a football investment package with the experts at NFL Choice and they have consistently grown your bankroll to $15,000 and you are close to mid-way through the season.  You are currently betting $500 per game and you feel that withdrawing a percentage from your bankroll won't hurt anything.  Actually, on the contrary withdrawing a percentage from your bankroll now can seriously derail your progress.  That $500 per game allocation is yielding higher return and if you withdraw even the slightest percentage, you must decrease your per game allocation.  The worst thing is, your only halfway through the season!

The Solution - Like any investment or mutual fund, sports investing involves patience and tact.  Wait until the end of the season to withdraw your funds, and even then don't withdraw your entire bankroll.  Sure, you need to celebrate and no better time to do it after the Super Bowl is over and you have profited on another winning football season with NFL Choice.  But, let's only take out 10% of the overall winnings, so we will have plenty of room and can double up next season.  At this rate, your bankroll is somewhere around $35,000 - $50,000 most likely.  10% of $50,000 is still $5,000.  So, take your girlfriend or wife on a nice Sandals vacation and celebrate knowing that next season your bankroll is going to be off the charts!

Summary - The bottom line is, the larger your bankroll, the larger your per game allocation, therefore your bankroll is naturally larger the more you have in your portfolio.  The key is patience.  Here at NFL Choice, for over 11 consecutive years we have been building our bankroll using our Football Investing Packages.  Our average return on investment now is over 6 figures every year for each member of our staff as we play between $2K-$4K per game average.

If you follow the simple rules that go with sports investing, you can be up to this margins in no time.  In the beginning, many of us started with a very small per game allocation at $50 per game wagers and look where we are now.  Many of our clients start out small and then over time build up, and thats perfectly fine.  Our services are catered to anyone who wants to make money on football, from the $50 per game players to the $5,000 per game players.

Stop by and see us today for a Football Investing Package that will put you on the right path to ultimate profitability!

Sports Investing

There is a huge difference between sports investing and gambling with my money.  Sports investing is more about feeling out the sports betting market and then betting consistently based on market swings and variable factors.  Obviously, the time it takes to invest in sports and win consistently takes much time and research.  Thus we recommend using a reliable sports investing company to do the work for you.  Just sit back and play the picks they tell you, and you will be a seasoned sports investor in no time.  We recommend 2 quality sites:

1) Football Investing - www.NFLChoice.com

NFL Choice has been around for about 10 years now, and online a few.  They don't call plays of the week or monster locks of the year.  They invest in football games including NFL and college football and offer premium Football Investing packages.  Keep this in mind, you won't come on board and witness a huge immediate pay-out, and they tell you this up front.  Like a mutual fund or stock market, the value is seen progressively over time.  Usually, we recommend giving them at least 2 weeks to yield a solid return on investment.  Yes, they do offer individual NFL Picks and College Football Predictions, and you can go this route.  But, we recommend aFootball Investing Package for ultimate results as the profitable gain can be tremendous.

2) Basketball Investing - www.NBAChoice.com

NBA Choice was founded by the same company above, and is based on the same principles, only using Basketball as the venue.  NBA and College Basketball can be extremely profitable as there are large amounts of games equalling many opportunities for smart investments during the season.  NBA Choice releases many games per week as part of their Basketball Investing Packages.  If you like betting a lot of plays almost every day, this is the service for you.  NBA Choice uses smart money management and a semi-aggressive attack yielding highly profitable return on investment throughout the season.  They do offer individual NBA Picks and College Basketball Predictions, but we recommend going with a Basketball Investing Package for strong financial gains during the season.

Investing in sports is much different than gambling, while technically you are still placing bets on sports games, your not technically gambling anymore.  Investing in Sports minimizing risks by analyzing variable factors associated with games utilizing consistent analysis over time.  It's similar to a mutual fund or smart stock investments, only using sports betting as the venue.  Both companies stated above will help you with your football bets and basketball bets by turing you into a seasoned sports investor

BCS Bowl Picks and Predictions for 2008-2009

by: www.NFLChoice.com staff

Introducing our early BCS Bowl Picks and Predictions for the 2008-2009 Season.

Rose Bowl

Fresno State vs. West Virginia

Winner = Fresno State

Season Prediction:  With nothing to lose, the Bulldogs return valuable starters and have a shot at going undefeated this season.  The Mountaineers will have to adjust to life without Slaten, so don't expect the same blowouts by the Mountaineers as you have witnessed in years past.  But, Pat White and the same defense will make another bowl splash and most likely lose 1-2 game this season.

Rose Bowl Prediction: Fresno will win in a high scoring game (60+ points).  The margin of victory will be close, but the Dogs will pull the upset with a spectacular finish.

Fedex Orange Bowl

Clemson Tigers vs. Texas Longhorns

Season Prediction: This is the year for the orange.  The Tigers finally have all the pieces for a BCS berth and will use this opportunity to build on last year's successes.  The Longhorns will not disappoint under Mack Brown and look for Colt McCoy to have a breakout season at QB.

Orange Bowl Prediction:  The Longhorns will go up early, but the Tigers will turn this into a defensive struggle in the second half.  Don't expect high scores and this will favor a Clemson win and cover as the Tigers put the Horns away by 4-7 points.

Allstate Sugar Bowl

LSU vs. Oklahoma

Season Prediction: The Tigers will still be the team to beat in college football despite losing Ryan P.  LSU will still have a tough grind it out defense and they are bigger than any team in college football.  The Sooners will have a breakout year on the arm of Sam Bradford in a no huddle attack.

Sugar Bowl Prediction:  This will be a very physical and high scoring game, but the Sooners will have more left in the second half as Sam Bradford leads his team comfortably over the Tigers down the stretch.

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl

Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Mzzou Tigers

Season Prediction:  The Tigers have the offensive and defensive balance to make another huge BCS splash.  Maclin and Chase Daniel are a force to reckon with and will once again look to go undefeated.  The Bucks will be there again, count on it.  They return an all-star cast and all-star coaching in a weak Big 10 conference.  No reason why they can't go without losing more than 1 game this season or undefeated.

Fiesta Bowl Prediction:  The Tigers will come to play, but the Buckeyes will come to win.  Look for Ohio State to finally win a BCS Bowl as they close out the Tigers by 10 or more down the stretch.

Fedex National Championship Game

USC vs. Georgia

Season Prediction:  Georgia will have their way this season led by QB Matt Stafford as they roll through their tough SEC conference.  They could lose 2 games and still get in with their SOS this year.  The Trojans will no competition as they win their conference easily.  Their true test will be Ohio State early in the season.

Fedex National Championship Game Prediction:  Look for this one to be close and very competitive, especially on offense.  The Bulldogs will try to turn this into a field position game, but the Trojans will continue to use their spread attack through the air.  USC will be very physical defensively as their defense will once again go unnoticed during the 2008-2009 College Football Season.  But, the Bulldogs will prevail in the end generating key turnovers late in the game.  Stafford will lead his team to victory, but not by more than a TD.

Handicapping NFL Underdogs 2008-2009

By www.nflchoice.com staff

Look, handicapping the NFL this season is going to take a little more tact than previous seasons.  Here, we are going to break down a few ground rules to get you through the first few weeks of capping the NFL 2008-2009 season.

First, you need to pay attention to some teams that can cover easily through the first half of the season before the oddsmakers take head.  Below are some teams that we feel may get solid underdog or small favorite value early on and mid way through the 2008-2009 NFL season.

Underrated Teams Not Noticed by the Oddsmakers:

1) Buffalo Bills - This team was a few 1-3 point losses from a playoff season last season led by no name quarterbacks.  Betting against the Bills last season was helter skelter and you can damn sure bet this season the oddsmakers will not adjust for the Bills, especially in the opening weeks.

2) Green Bay Packers - Look, just because Brett Favre may be out this season, does not mean this offense won't be productive.  Anyone with any football knowledge last season knows that Green Bay built their playoff run around their defense.  This season, the Packers return almost all of their starters on defense and will once again be a force in the North. The oddsmakers will likely give them some points due to their offensive questions with Aaron Rodgers at the beginning of the season.  So, the Packers may be good money early on.

3) Washington Redskins - They will get no respect rolling into the NFL season, even though they made the playoffs last year on an emotional roller-coaster.  The Skins still have some solid players returning and Jason Campbell keeps getting better.  look for the Skins to get no love from the oddsmakers early on.

4) Houston Texans - The Texans had a surprising season last year, and expect this defense to step it up even more this season.  As the obvious #1 candidate for the bottom dwellers of the AFC South, look for the Texans to get value as the underdog on many occasions this year.

5) Pittsburgh Steelers - While all the attention will be on the Browns, look for the Steelers to sneak in on some easy covers through the first half of the season.  The Ravens and the Bengals will most likely be non-factors in this conference and Big Ben will produce like always.

6) Oakland Raiders - Last season, the Raiders had a bad season to most, but for them they made huge strides.  This season with Russell at the helm, look for the Raiders to have a legitimate shot at the wild-card.  That means the oddsmakers will not know what hit them through much of the season.  The Raiders will come in as heavy underdogs and cover most of their games.

7) Carolina Panthers - Look for the Panthers to have a better season as the entire coaching staff has their head on the line for the NFL season.  John Fox will have to win or go home and vets like Jake Dellhome, Julius Peppers, and Steve Smith will have to show up this season to right this franchise.  Look for some easy covers at home as the oddsmakers will undervalue the Panthers through much of the season.

8) KC Chiefs - The fact is the Chiefs have the right pieces on the coaching staff to make a push for a wild-card spot.  They still have L.J. and a group of young defensive startups that will look to prove their case during the 2008-2009 NFL season.  The only question surrounds the QB situation as tough decisions will need to be made off-season.  But, the Chiefs may get solid value as small underdogs or small favorites at home they can absolutely cover.

9) Arizona Cardinals - Last year was supposed to be their year, but it didn't work out.  But, to them they made huge strides.  Look for this offense to click with whoever starts whether its Matt Leinart or Kurt Warner.  This offense is loaded with playmakers from Anquon Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald, Edgerrin James, and a young tight end by the name of Leonard Pope.  Look for some easy covers at home in the desert early on.

10) Philly Eagles - The Eagles will make a statement this year as Donovan McNabb will look to right wrongs in Philly.  Their defense just keeps getting better and Reid will take much pressure off the veteran McNabb by instilling a tough defense that turns each game into a field position battle.  The Eagles will be looking at some close scores, so watch for the underdog play early on when they are on the road.  They can cover so point spreads from 3-6 points will be solid value.

The History of Sports Investing

Through history people have always placed wagers and bets on sporting events. Betting on the end result of a game, race or event seems to come naturally to many of us. Perhaps it is because we are inherently risk-takers. In Colonial America wagers were bet on cock fights, horse races, and even hand-to-hand brawls. This was done sometimes as a form of recreation and sometimes as a means of profiting. Anytime a sport was played someone was willing to place a bet. Wagers seem to be a part of American Culture.

Wagering, or betting, as it is now called has only gained in popularity over time. Betting is upwards of $50 billion industry a year. It has been estimated that one in every four Americans bets on a sporting event at least once a year. That same group places bets on a regular basis. With such a staggering portion of the population involved there is no doubt that betting is here to stay. Obviously this must be an enjoyable activity. Research has shown that betting is enjoyed not only by professionals, but by the middle class as well as the guy off the street. Betting seems to be one of the rare things that knows no boundaries, and it permeates every facet of society.

Perhaps there are other reasons for its popularity. In today's world the economy is unsteady. People are forced to look for non-traditional ways to save, build and invest money. In the past betting on sports was just that; placing a wager based on a hunch. But nowadays sports wagering has truly become sports investing. Sports Investment Systems have been developed to help one determine when and how to place a wager that will result in a sound investment. This can be a strategy to slowly build your financial wealth.

Since most of us were introduced to sports at an early age we are comfortable with the games and terminology used in sports. This adds to the ease of understanding the strategies behind sports investing. Before understanding the sports investment systems and sports investment strategies it is necessary to become familiar with the jargon used. Basic terms are listed below:

Action - This refers to the betting activity.

Handicap - In order to level the betting field one team is given a points advantage (a handicap)

Handle - Total amount of money wagered on bets.

Book or Sportsbook - This is an establishment that takes bets. A person that takes bets is a bookie.

Juice - Percentage of all bets taken by the bookie as profit.

Believe it or not, the key to success in sports investing is only partially about how much is known about sports and wagering. A major component is intelligent money management. It is necessary to find an approach that will meet your goals as a sports investor. That will determine how you invest, for how long, and how much you will profit along the way.
